Three New Councillors for Hunstanton
The results of the Town Council election held on 15th July 2010 were:
Andrew Murray 498
David Jones 479
John Maiden 432
Isabelle Bishop 244
The three new Councillors, Andrew Murray, David Jones and John Maiden will take their seats at the Full Council meeting on Friday 16th July at 6.30pm.
The election turn out was a disappointing 17.43%
The Mayor, Cllr. Peter Mallam, congratulates the new Councillors and hope they will enjoy their time with the Council.
New Town Mayor & Deputy Mayor
Hunstanton Town Council has a new Mayor in the form of Heacham resident, Cllr Peter Mallam. Cllr Mallam owns a refreshment kiosk on the promenade in Hunstanton and has been a Councillor for both Hunstanton and Heacham for several years, he has two sons, Philip and Peter. Cllr Mallam was very honoured to receive the office of Mayor and commenced duties immediately.
The new Deputy Mayor, Cllr Carol Bower, only joined the Council a few months ago but wasted no time in impressing fellow Councillors with her hard work and dedication. Cllr Bower lives in Hunstanton with her husband, Simon. She is a retired nurse and school teacher.
Tour of Britain 2010 – Press Release
On 16 September Hunstanton will welcome the Tour of Britain riders, supporters and friends to our fabulous Victorian seaside Town. We plan to mark the occasion is style with a fun packed day of celebrations and festivities for both visitors and residents. The Town has so much to offer with water sports, amusements, an array of shops and delicious eateries and this will be added to on the day with special activities on The Green for both children and adults. All this super fun will be caught on camera as the filming helicopter passes through our skies.
With Hunstanton’s spectacular coast line, its distinctive carrstone cliffs, fabulous colourful Esplanade Gardens, quiet country lanes and established cycle routes, the area is already a popular place for cyclists to visit. So where better to come and enjoy this unique and exciting event?
Tender Opportunity
Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably experienced contractors to tender for Phase One of the refurbishment of the Town Hall Basement, Town Hall, The Green, Hunstanton. The Town Hall is a Grade II Listed building.
